Wine, wineries and vineyards in the Nelson area

The Holmes family have tended the vineyard organically using no synthetic fertilisers, fungicides, herbicides or insecticides. First vineyard in South Island developed organically and one of tiny band of fully certified organic vineyards in New Zealand.

Kaimira Estate Wines

The Kaimira Estate label was introduced in 1999 to promote a food friendly range of wines in a dry to slightly off-dry aromatic style. Wherever possible we aim to make these wines from grapes grown at our Brightwater vineyards.

Sunset Valley Vineyard

From the beginning the property was managed organically in accordance with Bio-Gro New Zealand organic production standards. Accommodation is also available.

Greenhough Wine

Established in 1976 - Riesling, Pinot Noir and Pinot Blanc vines.

Orinoco Vineyards

Located on top of the Moutere hills near Nelson, our unique vineyard produces intensely flavoured grapes which are crafted into wines of terroir and individuality.

Glovers
Glovers offeres you a wide variety of high quality wines. We focus on quality rather than quantity and some wines are in quite short supply. Most of our wines improve with age.

Kahurangi
Kahurangi Estate is an established vineyard originally planted by Agnes and Hermann Seifried in the early 1970's and purchased in 1998 by the Day family who have changed the name to Kahurangi Estate.

Moutere Hills
A converted woolshed is the home of Moutere Hills, our family-run winery. We make our wines here, using grapes grown on the farm, together with other top-quality Nelson grapes.

Neudorf
Neudorf Vineyards has an international reputation for exceptional and fine Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc and Riesling. Greenhough.

Rimu Grove Winery
We are a small but growing producer of handmade wines using traditional Burgundian techniques. All Rimu Grove wines are produced and bottled on site at Rimu Grove Winery in our 300 sq. meter winery facility.

Seifried
The Seifried family have been making stylish food-friendly wines since 1976. The range includes rich full Chardonnays, fine floral Rieslings, lively herbaceous Sauvignon Blancs, warm plumy Pinot Noir and, when conditions are right, intensely delicious dessert wines.

Te Mania
The wines created under this label are estate designated -- they come from our vineyards -- and are wines of exceptional character. They are only made in the best of vintages.
